After dropping out of high school during the pandemic, Cristhian enrolled in a construction training program, earned his diploma and industry credential, and now works full-time restoring historic buildings.

Trainees in the nonprofit’s Culinary Arts program gained real-world kitchen experience while preparing daily meals for homeless residents and schools, earning ServSafe certifications that opened doors to management-track jobs.

Through Team Oakland, Jayshon learned teamwork and leadership cleaning and greening his city; the experience built his confidence, led to college, and prepared him to study civil engineering while playing collegiate football.
